Bachata Zouk Royals returns to the Ballhaus in Freiburg from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th December 2026 for its 5th edition, with bachata and Brazilian Zouk side by side. The bachata lineup includes Masa & Polina, Tonio, Kornel & Catharine, Melonito, Soo, Xi & Alina, Guillermo & Anastasia, Nick & Daniela, Esra & Martin, Wesley & Tatiana, Nicolas & Karolina and host Florence, while nine zouk couples and teachers lead the zouk rooms. DJ Desea, DJ Tiago, DJ Vireack, DJ Natali, DJ Roberto and DJ Carlos play three themed parties across two floors, one per style, and both dances have their own Jack & Jill competition.

With more than 30 hours of workshops in a 2,000 m² venue ten minutes from central Freiburg, Royals is one of the biggest pre Christmas weekends near the Swiss and French borders. Bachata dancers get a dedicated room and party floor, so the zouk side is a bonus rather than a compromise. Leader and follower passes cost the same, the Jack & Jill and premium masterclasses are sold separately, and tickets are non refundable but can be transferred through go&dance. Tram line 1 stops in front of the venue all night on festival days.

Getting there: The closest airport is EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg, about 45 minutes away. The Ballhaus is about a 10 minute walk from downtown Freiburg, tram line 1 stops in front of the venue, and paid parking garages are about 240 m away.
